Things to Do

Playground and Paddling Pool

The playground, with its many fun facilities for little ones, is one of the most poplar destinations in the park. The paddling pool attracts families from across the community on sunny days during the summer!

The clean, fenced play area, shaded by trees, provides a variety of safe play equipment for younger children plus picnic tables and seating. Swings, slides, climbing frames, the toddler play area and more are hugely popular.

The paddling pool is open every day during school summer holidays. The pool is inspected and cleaned at regular intervals by the Park Ranger and is emptied and re-filled every day.

The Friends was started in 1993 to help save the paddling pool. These are new tough economic times and local leisure facilities could come under threat. Please sign our petition to show your support for the paddling pool. Simply send your name and address in an email with the subject: "I support the paddling pool" to contactus@friendsofsjh.org

The play area has been refurbishmed through the Play Pathfinder Project to include a zip wire, tractor tyre swing, climbing boulders, spinner, landscaping mounds and balancing logs. New picnic tables are also due to be installed, one of which has been financed by the Friends.
