Thank you for all those that supported the Hut over the summer 2021 from Sunday 18th July - 30th August. 

 

The Hut and mini-golf is seasonal and is currently closed.

 

Run by "young friends",  when open the hut sells ice cream and hot and cold drinks. Opening times are subject to change. We publicise the opening times where possible on the Website and for the most up to date information our Facebook Group.

 

Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Playing Field once had a Park Keeper who would man The Hut and run the Crazy Golf Pitch. This has not been the case for some years and so over the last few years the Friends have taken over The Hut and the Crazy Golf. The revenues from the voluntary running of these facilities are a major source of funding for the park since grants have become much harder to come by. The Hut sells a variety of hot and cold refreshments, including artisan locally sourced ice-cream for those hot days. We ask that when it is open, you patronise The Hut (instead of the Mr Whippy Van that can often be found parked outside the gates on hot days!)  in support of the park and always be mindful that it is staffed by young volunteers – so please be kind and patient. .
