TREE PLANTING CELEBRATION AT SIR JOES WITH STONELEIGH YOUTH ORCHESTRA

Stoneleigh Youth Orchestra (based) in Wimbledon are celebrating their 75th anniversary. As part of their celebrations they are planting 100 trees at Sir Joseph Hood Memorial Playing Field with the support of the Merton Tree Wardens and the Friends of the Park in February.

They will be planting native trees such as wild cherry, silver birch, dog rose and oak.

The 'Stoneleigh Copse' will be an addition to the Millennium Woodland.

The Youth Orchestra has two anniversary concerts, one at Cadogan Hall and another at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on the Southbank this Spring and Summer
